We thought a great way to get to know the team at Permanent People a bit better, would be to ask some questions to give you an insight into what makes us tick!!
Starting off with Louise Reid who heads up our Amsterdam office:
What do you do for Permanent People?
I head up our EU side from Amsterdam, with a key focus on managing recruitment in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain.
How long have you been in recruitment?
4.5 years
Favourite recruitment experience/story?
Oh it’s hard to pick just one. I’d say keeping in touch with candidates I’ve placed and hearing how their lives have changed through the role I’ve placed them in is pretty special. Being in recruitment has personally allowed me to the opportunity to move country, and being able to support others in their relocation is something I love.
What advice would you give a younger you in terms of your recruitment career?
Keep it simple. We aren’t reinventing the wheel or saving lives, but in rec2rec you’re a big part of someone’s career and clients team. As cliché as younger me would have found this – treat people how you’d want to be treated – be clear, honest, and communicative.
What’s an interesting fact about you?
I’m a British expat living in Amsterdam, who loves Snowsports but lives in the flattest place in Europe and hates beansprouts but loves a Pad Thai – controversial I know.
Favourite things:
- Food? Spag bol.
- Drink? Cup of tea – one British thing that will never change.
- Place visited? Got to say Amsterdam. It’s why I live here now!
- Film? Planet of the Apes trilogy.
- Band? Biffy Clyro.
- Would like to visit? Canada and New Zealand.
