Bilingual Graduate Opportunities in London for 2019!

£22k – £24k basic salary

OTE £32k year 1

Permanent People have an abundance of exciting opportunities on offer for German, French, Dutch and Swiss speakers that will commence between June and September. Whether you’re already based in London, or you’re thinking about relocating to the UK, then we are keen to hear from you! To find out what a career in recruitment can offer you, then read on…

What does a role in recruitment involve?

  • Researching the market to find prospective businesses to generate new relationships
  • Making contact with clients via cold-calls or warm LinkedIn messages to introduce your services; these clients may be in Europe and could involve European travel to meet with these clients
  • Face to face meetings with clients to find out more about their business needs, this involves negotiating terms of business, handling any objections, managing expectations and building lasting rapport
  • Sourcing specialist candidates in your niche area to meet your clients’ needs, this can be through writing job adverts or sourcing on LinkedIn / job boards
  • Screening your candidate to build a strong relationship while also understanding their needs and their experience
  • Acting as a mediator between client and candidate to book interviews, present your candidate in the best way, prepare your candidate for interview and negotiate salaries with your client

Why is recruitment so rewarding?

Working in a recruitment agency will offer you expert industry training which allows such fast progression and promotion, often within the first 3 to 6 months; with this promotion, you will often receive a pay rise as well as inflated commission! You will receive a mixture of classroom based training, on the job support and one to one coaching from industry leaders, which will allow you to refine your current skills and learn all there is to know about one of the most profitable industries.

Although recruitment is a busy sales role that requires resilience, it involves working in a varied position in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in a luxury modern office setting. You will become an integral piece within a close-knit team where there’s a busy social scene and frequent team building events outside of the office. This means that the office has a competitive buzz where you will have daily fun. Often, there will also be a group of like-minded graduates who have also relocated to London in the office, so you’ll have plenty in common.

Your hard work and long-hours will also be recognised with luxury incentives which can include company wide holidays, Michelin star lunch-clubs, tickets to sporting events or concerts, shopping vouchers and fully expensed weekends away with your team. By year 2, you should be earning towards £40k which will continue to increase year on year!

What experience is important before applying?

  • You are fluent in English, as well as fluent in German, French, Dutch or Swiss, so that you can communicate with clients and candidates in a European market
  • Ideally you have recently graduated from 2017 to 2019 and either live in London or can relocate to London with short notice. If you have a degree in Life-science, Law, Business, Marketing or related, then you may be able to recruit into a related market and use your prior knowledge
  • It is hugely beneficial that you have some previous commercial work experience which may be within Account Management, B2B or B2C Sales or Marketing. If you have worked to targets, up-sold products, built relationships or liaised with clients in two languages, this will be transferable experience
  • You are confident, ambitious and self-motivated and a natural people-person who can build rapport with people at all levels and from all backgrounds
  • You are financially-motivated, driven by targets and have a positive pro-active attitude
